Celebrating VE Day

Do you or a family member have any images, facts or stories recalling events during WW2 and VE Day 1945 in Gravesham?

We would like to hear from anyone with memories, pictures or stories with a Gravesham connection to help us commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.

Our aim is publicise 75 memories, facts and images during May.

Please send your contributions to artsandheritage@gravesham.gov.uk. Any information submitted may be used on our websites and in other council exhibitions, publications and social media platforms.

Due to the current Government restrictions on public gatherings, our plans to commemorate VE Day 75 are now on hold, but there are plenty of ways you can commemorate this important date at home.

Visit www.ve-vjday75.gov.uk for fun tips, 1940s’ menus, print at home bunting and themed music.

English Heritage is also exploring remarkable stories from this chapter in England's history, www.english-heritage.org.uk/ve-day
