Commonwealth Day in Gravesham

Commonwealth Day was marked on Community Square on Monday 9 March.
Children from Bronte School and St Joseph's Convent Prep School joined the Mayor of Gravesham Cllr Gurdip Ram Bungar and Deputy Lieutenant of Kent Dr Bhargawa Vasudaven at the raising of five Commonwealth flags.
The day was marked across five continents with events including flag parades, church services, poetry mornings, dance performances and much more.
This year’s event was centred around the theme Delivering a Common Future, highlighting how the 54 member countries in the Commonwealth family are innovating, connecting and transforming to help achieve some of its biggest goals like protecting natural resources and boosting trade.
