Don't miss important voter registration information coming in the post
Residents living in Gravesham will soon receive a form asking them to check whether the information that appears on the electoral register about their address is correct.
The annual canvass ensures that Gravesham Borough Council can keep the electoral register up to date, identifying any residents who are not registered so that they can be encouraged to do so.
Stuart Bobby, Chief Executive and Electoral Registration Officer at the council, said: “The annual canvass is an opportunity for people to easily check whether they’re registered. If you have changed address in the last year, you may need to register at your new address. If this is the case, I would urge you to look out for the form and check it as soon as it arrives.
“It’s important that residents keep an eye out for messages from the council so we can make sure we have the right details on the electoral register for every address in the Gravesham Borough. To make sure you are able to have your say at elections taking place next year, simply follow the instructions.
“If you’re not currently registered, your name will not appear in the messages we send. If you want to register, the easiest way is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote , or we’ll send you information explaining how to do this in the post.”
Any residents who have any questions can contact their local registration team at Gravesham Borough Council.
