Gravesham Community Leisure Limited, who run Cascades, Cygnet and Swanscombe Leisure Centres, are offering free virtual, fun, exercise classes for everyone.

They have organised the classes to encourage the residents of Gravesham to stay healthy during lockdown. Anyone can join in with the free live classes via the Zoom video call app or by taking part in pre-recorded classes.

Rob Swain, GCLL managing director said: “The last nine months have been really difficult for everyone and being in lockdown for the third time is having a negative effect on people’s health.

“Staying fit and active is one of the best ways to build and maintain a strong immune system and stay healthy. Whilst we are all staying home this is the perfect opportunity to keep as fit and healthy as possible.

“It’s also really important for your mental health to do some exercise. Physical activity can be a massive anti-depressant and can really help to lift your mood, so whilst our leisure centres are closed why not join us online, for free?

“We have frozen all of our leisure centre memberships and this is our way of saying thanks for the support of local people and we hope to see you all return to our buildings when it is safe to do so.

“So in the meantime enjoy a workout in your own home on us.”
