Gravesham Borough Council unveils rainbow vehicles

Gravesham Borough Council has decorated two of its waste and recycling collection vehicles with rainbows to thank all key workers who live and work in the Borough for their efforts during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The vehicles cover most of the Borough between them on their regular rounds and children (and ‘big’ children) are being encouraged to give the crews a wave when they spot them, take pictures of the vehicles and share them on social media.

“Our waste and recycling crews have been touched by the amount of support they have received from the public since the coronavirus lockdown came into force,” said Cllr John Burden, Leader of Gravesham Borough Council.

“They wanted to share that love with all the other key workers we know live and work in the Borough and who are doing such amazing work in very difficult circumstances.

“We would love to see pictures of the vehicles out and about around Gravesham, but please do make sure that while taking them you are observing all the current coronavirus guidelines, including maintaining social distancing.”

Pictures can be shared via social media using #Gravesham and #OneCommunity.
