The search is on for Gravesham’s unsung heroes, the people who deserve recognition for their contribution to the local community.

Nominations are now open for the Gravesham Community Awards 2020, which will celebrate the local heroes who help make Gravesham a great place to live, work and visit.

Cllr Shane Mochrie-Cox, Gravesham Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure, said: “There are many individuals and groups who work tirelessly and often in their own time to make a significant and positive contribution to the lives of those who live and work in Gravesham.

“These awards are a celebration of their efforts and the chance for us as a community to say thank you.

“Everyone will know someone who deserves recognition and no contribution is too big or too small.

“In past years people have been rewarded for work in the academic, sporting, artistic and cultural fields, as well as those who have worked to improve the quality of life for local people.”

The awards are for people living or working in Gravesham.

To nominate, visit www.gravesham.gov.uk/communityawards or pick up a form from the Civic Centre in Gravesend.

Nominations close on Friday 20 March and the awards will be presented at the Annual Meeting of Gravesham Borough Council at The Woodville on Tuesday 12 May.
