Views sought on tourism and heritage in Gravesham
Gravesham Borough Council is asking people their views on tourism and heritage in the Borough to help shape key priorities for the coming three years.
The council has been speaking to local tourism, heritage and hospitality businesses and their views have helped contribute to a draft Tourism and Heritage Strategy.
The next stage is for local people, parish councils, tourism businesses and networks and other stakeholders and partners to comment on the draft strategy.
Cllr Shane Mochrie-Cox, the council’s Cabinet Member for Community and Leisure, said: “As a Borough we have a rich history with many fantastic assets, including our unique river heritage, our urban and industrial history, our rural stories, and our people now and in the past.
“As a council we have a duty to reflect, promote and exhibit our heritage for residents and for tourism but also to identify and protect this heritage for future generations.
“By creating this long term strategy promoting this vision for tourism and heritage, we are looking to attract more visitors to our Borough, which in turn will benefit our local businesses and economy.
“Our new Tourism and Heritage Strategy will set our priorities and targets for the next three years and it is important that as many people as possible contribute their views.”
